Update on Masking Policy
Masks are now optional in all clinic areas. Practitioners will continue to wear masks when indicated by patient preference and comfort. To ensure patient comfort, if a patient enters their appointment with a mask on, the practitioner will wear one as well. A patient may request that their practitioner wear a mask at any time. If you have had close contact with someone with an active illness in the past week, please wear a mask to your appointment. We continue to have medical masks available for anyone who needs one.

Kamloops Massage Matters
“Massage Therapy” means the health profession in which a person provides, for the purposes of developing, maintaining, rehabilitating or augmenting physical function, or relieving pain or promoting health, the services of (a.) assessment of soft tissue and joints of the body, and (b.) treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction, injury, pain and disorders of soft tissue and joints of the body by manipulation, mobilization and other manual methods.
The Registered Massage Therapy Association of BC defines massage therapy as the treatment and prevention of dysfunction, injury, pain and physical disorders of the soft tissues and joints by manual and physical methods to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function to relieve pain and promote health.
Massage therapists manipulate the body’s soft tissues – muscles, tendons, connective tissues, joints and ligaments – to achieve results. Using touch, therapists:
relieve pain,
help heal injuries,
improve circulation,
increase relaxation,
relieve stress,
reduce muscular tension,
improve lymphatic drainage, and
help improve the general wellness of clients.
Massage therapy’s beneficial effect on the body and its ability to optimize health and well-being derives from its acting on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems.
Massage therapy can be used to develop, maintain and improve physical function and it can relieve or prevent physical dysfunction and pain and the impact of stress on the body. It can be employed to treat both acute and chronic conditions, and it is also effective as a preventive strategy.
